Book Review: Wild Wings by Gill Lewis

Hi Reader Friends! I have an amazing book for you today: Wild Wings by Gill Lewis!

Blurb:

Iona McNair has a secret. Ospreys have come to nest in Callum McGregor's family farm in Scotland. Threatened by egg poachers Osprey's have become a protected species.  Callum and Iona swear to keep the location of the osprey's quite in order to keep them safe. But when tragedy strikes Callum can't keep the secret alone. With the help of friends, family and strangers miles away Callum does what ever he can to protect the female osprey, Iris, while she travels south for the winter. Will he succeed? Will Iris make her way back to Scotland? Only time will tell.

Review:

I loved this book Callum's connection with Iris and his efforts to save her even from miles away was very moving. The book brought tears to my eyes both sad and happy. This isn't just about birds but also about how friendships can be forged by people with a common goal. From Scotland to Gambia and back Iris's journey was a moving tale of the power of friendship and how the life of one bird pulled a community together.

I plan on recommending this book to all my students who love animals and care about their well being.
